Australia is fast becoming a nation of renovators, if the results of a survey conducted by the National Australia Bank are to be believed.

Many Australians to renovate this year

According to the NAB survey, 7 out of 10 Australians are planning to renovate their homes within the next 12 months. When asked how much they intend to spend on home improvement this year, the respondents said that they are willing to spend an average of $25,000 for their renovation projects. As to why they want to renovate, the most popular answers were a desire to make their homes even more livable and boost their property’s value.

With 70% of Australians now wanting to renovate despite consumer anxiety related to job security, it can only be expected that there will be a sharp rise in the demand for good tradies as well. Bathroom and kitchen renovators will probably be really busy, as more than half of those surveyed said they are planning to update a bathroom or kitchen.
