Your story. How did it all start?
I have been in the finance and sales industry for over 20 years.
In 2009, I started out working for Aussie Home Loans as a mobile mortgage broker and, also in their compliance call centre. I saw this as an opportunity to have more work-life balance, flexibility and really do something I loved – help improve the financial position of others.
Since then, I’ve been able to grow my business. Lucky for me, most of it has been all relationship-based with repeat customers, great word-of-mouth and excellent support from my network of property professionals.

What has made you so successful in gaining repeat customers and partnership?
Unlike the banks, I treat my customers as people, not numbers. I strive to build lasting relationships with my clients – and most of them are. I am still working with some of my very first clients and now helping their family and friends.
What is the most important tip you can give to anyone that has a current loan?
Review it annually! Just like you would with your car or home insurance policy.

I had one client who had been on the verge of a financial crisis (including nearly losing their home). Over a 3 year period and through helping them understand, plan and budget I had them on a path to financial success where they got in a position to buy their first investment property.

Over the years I’ve established a pool of expert professionals within the property space that my clients can tap into.
How are you different from other mortgage brokers out there?
I”ll challenge my clients to improve their overall financial state by helping them understand the current reality of their situation.
While most brokers are only interested in getting that one loan over the line, I’m more interested in the long-term financial well-being of my clients.
I’ll take things to a far deeper level by reviewing their existing spending patterns and offering them options to help take control of spending and budgeting.
And in today’s current climate where I see so many people under financial stress, it’s becoming one of the best ways I can add value.
Passions outside business?
I enjoy card making as a hobby. I also love spending time outdoors on my acres. I have a very active apiary (bees), chickens, dogs and lorikeets. They keep me busy.
Giving back to great causes?
I do weekly volunteer work as a community JP at the Winston Hills Shopping Centre.
